Chileo wigeon in France!

We were walking past the lake at the manoir de letantg, when we spotted a colorful duck in the shallow water. We went over to see what it was, but andrew and I have never seen anything like it before. I pulled out the camera, and snapped at least 5 pics. we watched it for another 10 minutes before it flew off. When we got home we searched through all the european bird books but the bird wasn't in any book. Then we searched on google ducks of the world and finally found it. We were shocked to know this bird was clearly a Cheleo Wigeon that normally lives in South America.
